BRIDGEWATER — For the second time this month, a school district in Somerset County has found nude pictures of students on classmates’ mobile phones, school officials say. A similar discovery was made in Bernards earlier this month.

And the district’s response to the discovery in Bridgewater-Raritan schools this week mimics almost exactly that of the Bernards district earlier this month — give students a few days to delete the photos without facing criminal charges, but threaten severe consequences for those who don’t comply.

In a letter to middle school and high school students Tuesday — published in full by the Alternative Press — superintendent Cheryl Dyer says students took photos of themselves and shared them electronically. Images were found on classmates’ phones and social media pages, Dyer says. The letter doesn’t say how many students were involved, or whether they come from both schools.Kids are at it again.
