Memorial Day through Labor Day is regarded as the 100 deadliest days of the year for teenage drivers.

“This has always been a time of concentrated traffic volumes,” said Michael Right, spokesman for AAA Missouri. “School is out and youngsters are traveling outside of their typical commute to and from school.”

Right said distracted driving is a major cause of accidents involving teens.

Distracted driving includes the use of cellphones for talking or texting.

The use of a cellphone while driving is prohibited in Kansas for drivers with a learner’s permit or intermediate license. read more.
