ABOUT US
By Parents, For Parents GuardChild was founded by a team of parents concerned by the explosion of news reports about child predators frequenting Internet Chat Rooms and exploiting children. We realized a need for a ‘one stop’ website where parents could gather to share their knowledge and experiences, educate themselves about Internet security, and review and purchase the latest child-monitoring software.
With more than twenty years of experience in technology, criminal justice, and working with at-risk-youth, we are well aware of the promise and danger the Internet holds for children. We believe that Internet safety awareness and parental controls are necessary to make the Internet a fun, safe place for children. We want to help you protect your children from online predators, pornography, drugs, and to protect your family from identity theft and Internet crime.

Community You’re not alone. Millions of other families are worried about Internet safety, too. With membership in GuardChild’s Community, you will also have access to the GuardChild Community Blog—a gathering space for parents to share their questions, fears, and successes. The blog will feature articles by technology and security experts and GuardChild staff; members can also submit their own articles and questions for publication and community discussion.
A Message from the President of GuardChild
We hope you found our site educational and valuable in gaining a better understanding about the issues of online child safety. We also hope you decide to purchase software and become a member of our community. If you do not, we appreciate you visiting our site. However, we strongly urge you to purchase child-monitoring software and increase your awareness of what your child is doing on the Internet, either with us or through another site. Leaving a child alone with an unprotected computer is equivalent to leaving a child alone on a playground. You’ve read the statistics that show what can happen when kids are not supervised online—you know the dangers.
Our goal is to ensure that you and your family are protected from sexual predators and identity theft. We want you to be armed with the knowledge of how your children communicate, to increase your understanding about the Internet, and we want you to find safe, fun, and educational sites for you and your family.
We hope you’ll return to our site and make use of all the resources available to you. Once again, thanks for visiting with us..
Regards, Michael Cafarelli President and Co-Founder, GuardChild.com
